It's alright if you don't mind standing
The service was awesome. But there were lots of little things that dropped my rating- no seating, smoking is allowed and low ceilings. My husband is 6'7" so we were a bit uncomfortable. Otherwise, the sake selection rocked and the tempura was tasty. Definitely stop by but you won't want to stay long.
Not a bad place for a drink. Small and cozy, but lively too. Food is decent as well. Staff is friendly and speak some English.
If you love frozen sake then look no further. This place is the mecca
Decent place with many cup sakes which when are shaken to to a frozen sake. Food isn't amazing
Casual and cozy standing bar with a lot of variety and a welcoming atmosphere. Check out their frozen sake fridge!
I love this place for it's style and service. Sorta upscale but not pricey. The super cold sake (basically a sake slushy) is awesome!
You can enjoy standing bar style there.
Standing room bar with great yakitori and wide variety of one cup sake. They'll let you take the glasses home after and make suggestions if you tell them your preferred style. Great music too.
Great standing bar.. among the best bars I have been to!
Best stand up Sake Bar in town
Place was super dirty, drinks were disgusting and overpriced, and service was really meh by tokyo standards. Not a bad place for expats with low standards
Standing bar specializing in one-cup sake
One of the best Sake bars in central Tokyo. Typically, a bit more on the gaijin side but the layer the evening the higher the percentage of Japanese. I love it.
This place is tiny but amazing. A wall full of sake cups with a hidden entrance to the toilet is a unique touch to the atmosphere, but the best is to try the sake. Served in super cooled cups, the sake freezes when you hit it hard against your hand. The place is a bit pricey for the quality of food, but is a nice place to meet and interact with people while drinking chilled sake.
One of the first unique-to-tokyo bar experiences I had when I first visited in 2006. Now seemingly popular with expats, this bar serves individually frozen jars of sake as well as a variety of meat and veggie skewers.
I always suggest this place to visiting friends because the frozen sake gimmick is cute and people always seem to be really enjoying themselves there. And if sake doesn't turn out to be your thing, I really like their sangria! Just keep an eye out for the incredibly difficult to spot bathroom door on the back wall covered in glass jars.
First time I've been served sake drink that was tapped and shaken before being served. They have a long list of dry, medium, and sweet sake.
Hands down BEST beef yakitori I’ve ever had. On par with Kobe that I had earlier today. Space is cute and it’s incredible with good drinks and yakitori. Especially for the price. Highly recommend
Frozen sake. They have lots of different ones to try - dry, medium, sweet in little glasses. Cool place, but smokey (like most bars in Tokyo though). Friendly staff
Sake slush! Great staff, excellent sake selection, very good skewers.
Fun place to try a number of different varieties of cup sake. They super-chill the sake, so if you tap the lid the sake will freeze in a matter of seconds turning into a wonderful sake slushie. The cups all have different designs and they'll let you take them home.
Very cool standing sake bar. They have lots of “frozen sake” options for you to try - all come in the standard sake cup size. The food is nice too. The service staff are very friendly and helpful, and speak some English too. Very pleasant. There is a cool wall on the inside where the bathroom is covered with sake cups. The place is a bit small and can feel somewhat cramped when busy. Come place for a quick drink but not for staying long I guess.
Small place with a nice intimate atmosphere. Not great when crowded and the waiter was rude and had us change seats three times
Very friendly staff and had a cool vibe.
Great, foreigner friendly staff. Huge sake selection!
Large selection of nihonshu (sake) from all over Japan. Most are super-cooled so that they freeze instantly when shaken. Great place to take out-of-town guests.
First time in Tokyo and first time trying sake.Get the frozen kind and watch the owner show you a magic trick with it! Fun local bar and happy we visited :)
You want frozen sake now, don't you?
Nice bar with a lot of different frozen sake !! Also, great atmosphere ! Will come back
Great vibe and service. Would definitely come back and recommend to others
Facts: Small Crowded50% international crowdNo seatsIt tends to get very crowded which can be a good thing if you’re out for socializing but terrible point if you wanna have a conversation. The staff is very polite and helpful and although they can’t really speak English they will still try their best to accommodate you.
Nice little "tachi-nomiya" with huge selection of "Cup-sake". Can be busy on Friday and Saturday and the crowd may sometimes does not fit inside. Other than that its a popular place among foreigners.
Excellent Nihon-shu place. The manager is really friendly, and the location is excellent. Huge variety of choice. Love that place!
Nice place to see how local are doing. I live how they promote local drinks.
Over the years have stopped in here either before eating or after eating - either early or late - finally getting around to jotting a few wordsLast visit was with just 3 people but prior occasions with a smallish group and on each visit have taken a different spot of either standing at the counter, sitting or at the standing/stool tables by the windowdefinitely recommend as a stop in if you want cup sake and/or others want beer etc - menu has snack bites from vegetables to yakitori to easy dishes matching with the drinkscup sakes have the novelty of been frozen (if you chose) and makes a good stop for overseas visitors - pretty wide regional selection Menus suitable for many language visitors and staff mix Japanese and Italian - no issues thereCertainly recommended in this area of ebisu, street level, and with drinks worth having and all at a decent price - plus the standing means if you so inclined you can easily chat to others
Nice bar with many Sake. It’s my first time trying frozen Sake and it was great! Also many choices of sake as well, which is good because I specifically like Super dry ones
Divey vibe with friendly service (English speaking!) and frozen sake - that should be enough to convince you to check out Buri.
Great place to go with friends. The staff is awesome and the frozen sake is a bit different.
Been to this place quite a number of times over the years. Has a expat vibe. Extensive sake list, served frozen, which is excellent. Our waiter saw that we were wanting to keep the glass cups the sake came in so he washed them, provided bags, and even gave us an additional 9 or so glasses from their collection to take home.
Fun, casual and different sake bar. Has a wide selection and an interesting way of serving the sake frozen. They play dance music which always gets you in a party mood.
Cozy & casual standing sake bar providing an awesome collection of sake and some modern izakaya grub. They also have some beer on draft but the main event here is the amazing sake selection and the possible pairings with the food menu.
Best spot to enjoy frozen sake and some cured ham!
Always a reliable spot in Ebisu
Favourite bar in Tokyo by far!
Great little bar, always very busy in the evenings. Get the frozen sake jars.
Wow. Great service. Menu and staff = English sorted. Variety of sakes from around Japan. All in non pretentious "one cups". Good food as well. Restrooms via a "secret door" of one cups. Priceless.
Excellent service, food was delicious and frozen sake drinks were quite tasty. Would recommend the super-dry sake for those more experienced with it, we found the medium sake drinks to be somewhat bland. Wonderful experience overall!
One of the best sake bar in Tokyo. Love this place.
Huge menu of sake served frozen, with a flair. Went early evening, before dinner, and it was quiet.
